The adsorption effects of woody biomass were obviously higher than that of shell biomass, and the adsorption capacities of the two raw materials' pyrolysis charcoal were in the order of WPC > WSC. The adsorption effects of different treatment reagents on MB were in the order ZnCl2 > KOH > H3PO4 > H2SO4. The maximum adsorption capacities of the two biomass treatments were 850.9 mg/g for WPC with ZnCl2 treatment and 701.3 mg/g for WSC with KOH treatment.Oleoresins are a mixture of volatile and nonvolatile components of concentrated forms of wholesome products. Even though there are several reports on the effect of spice or spice components on Alzheimer's disease, there are no studies on the effect of spice oleoresins. Hence, this study investigates the effect of pepper, chili, and turmeric oleoresins in Alzheimer's type of cognitive impairment in the rat model. The animals were grouped into six groups with six animals in each. They were (i) normal, (ii) scopolamine, (iii) scopolamine + pepper oleoresin, (iv) scopolamine + turmeric oleoresin, (v) scopolamine + chili oleoresin and (vi) scopolamine + donepezil for 13 days. Learning memory and acquisition memory were evaluated by a Morris water maze, and the locomotor activity was assessed by an actophotometer. Biochemical parameters such as AChE, malondialdehyde, reduced glutathione, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase were studied. The brain histology was also studied. The scopolamine treatment significantly (P less then 0.05) elevated the locomotor activity and escape latency time and reduced the time spent in the target quadrant, which was reversed in the case of the oleoresin treatment. Scopolamine-mediated changes in AChE, malondialdehyde, reduced glutathione, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase were improved after the treatment with oleoresins. Among the three oleoresins, chili oleoresin were the most effective in behavioral activity, brain biomarkers, and recovery of antioxidant capacities when compared to the drug treatment. Chili and pepper oleoresins improved the protection against hippocampal damage. These oleoresins can be potent preventive/therapeutic agents against Alzheimer's disease. This study confirms the effect of spice oleoresins in Alzheimer's disease condition. In this work, three nanometal complexes named cetyltrimethyammonium dibromodichloro zincate (CT-Zn), cetyltrimethyammonium dibromodichloro cuprate (CT-Cu), and cetyltrimethyammonium dibromodichloro manganesate (CT-Mn) were prepared, characterized, and evaluated as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel in water-based mud (WBM). The chemical structure of the prepared complexes was confirmed by the use of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and thermogravimetric analysis techniques. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/mk-8719.html The surface tension of the complexes was measured. The critical micelle concentrations and some of the surface properties were also determined. The compounds were evaluated as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel in the prepared WBM using potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss methods during the static and dynamic conditions of the drilling operations. The results indicated that the prepared metal complexes showed high anticorrosion action as the inhibition efficiency increased gradually with the increase in the concentrations of the prepared complexes until it reached the maximum value (93.1%) at 300 ppm for CT-Cu. The order of inhibition efficiency of these inhibitors was as follows CT-Cu > CT-Zn > CT-Mn. The polarization curves showed that these complexes acted as mixed-type inhibitors. According to the results, the adsorption of these compounds obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Surface analysis of the carbon steel samples was investigated using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray, and X-ray diffraction techniques. Rheological properties, gel strength, thixotropy, and filtration properties were also measured according to American Petroleum Institute specifications. The hydrodynamic behavior of particles in a 3D integral multi-jet spout-fluidized bed has been studied experimentally by particle image velocimetry method. In the cross section of the spouted bed, especially in the annulus, it was found that particle movement can be effectively promoted by adding the integral multi-jet, thus enhancing the radial movement of particles in the annulus and effectively eliminating the dead zone of particle flow in the annulus region. With the decrease of particle handling capacity, the fluidization effect of multi-jets was improved. When the static bed depth was 0.165 m, the enhancement effect of multi-jets on the movement of particles in the spouted bed would be optimal. When the particle diameter was overly small, the fluidization effect of the side jet would be relatively low, while excessive particle diameter would weaken the fluidization effect of the side jet due to the rise in the inertia force of particles. The analysis of the average turbulent kinetic energy and radial velocity of the particles revealed that when the particle diameter is equal to 0.72 mm, the strengthening factor of movement of particles (η) reaches the peak, the turbulence fluctuation of particles in the annulus region reaches the highest, and the fluidization effect of side jets on the particles is the best.Al Amar gold ore is rich in sulfides of base metals and is commercially applied for the production of copper concentrate via floatation and gold bullion by cyanidation of tailing. The current process flowsheet suffers from low gold recovery (?60%) and loss of metals in the hazardous stockpiled residue. This work addresses these drawbacks by a newly experimental redesign of the process circuit. The innovative flowsheet comprises a sequence of operations, including acid leaching of the roasted ore, gold recovery from the leach residue, and preparation of a valuable zinc-copper-lead ferrite from the filtrate by coprecipitation followed by heat treatment. The ore is roasted at 650 °C and then leached in 20% HCl, where most of Zn, Cu, Pb, and Fe contents are dissolved, while pristine gold remains in the residue. Most of the gold (?93%) can be recovered by cyanidation of the acid leach residue. Stoichiometric ratios of dissolved Zn, Cu, Pb, and Fe in the acid leach solution can be kept at 0.60.30.12.0, respectively, only by adding a small amount of ferric chloride.
